Unfortunately, the organic cotton cover for both Latex and Hybrid mattresses is not removable. This is because the cover plays a crucial role in preserving the quality of the latex material, preventing it from bunching up while also ensuring it does not come into direct contact with your skin. This is done to enhance your sleeping quality, protect the mattress, and maintain an overall healthy sleep environment.
We understand that accidental spills and marks can occur from time to time, so we want to share some advice to help keep your cover clean and in excellent condition. These are the best methods we recommend to minimise any issues that may arise.
In the event of spills or accidents, the first thing you should do is contact our customer service team. Proper cleaning is crucial to prevent any damage from excess moisture. If it is after hours and our team is unavailable, you can try the following tips. Please note, the priority should be to remove moisture from the mattress as soon as possible
Tips to care for the mattress cover
We have a variety of different ways you can take care of the cover of your mattress. While it is not removable, there are still some easy and effective ways to prevent stains or damage to the material.
- Use a fitted mattress protector to prevent any body oils and marks from getting into the organic cotton cover. Our mattress protector is the perfect option for your day-to-day use, as it features a deep pocket design to protect the mattress from perspiration, dead skin cells and minor accidents (it is important to note that the mattress protector is not waterproof).
- If you foresee large spills or occasional little accidents, especially with young children, it is advisable to invest in a fitted "waterproof" mattress protector. These protectors are specially engineered to stop significant amounts of liquid from seeping through the material and harming the mattress.
- For large spills, quickly strip your bedding off to prevent any spills from seeping into the material of the mattress. If you leave any spills for a prolonged period, it is most likely that this area of the mattress will be left with a stain/damage. We recommend having a few bedding sets to switch between in the event of spills (our Organic Egyptian Cotton Bed Sheet set is a great option for this)
- Clean any stains or marks immediately once you have noticed them. We recommend using a spray bottle with equal amounts of white vinegar and water to clean the stained area. Spray the area sparingly then let it sit for several minutes only, before lightly dabbing off with a damp cloth. Make sure the area is completely dry before making the bed. You can also sprinkle Bicarbonate Soda over the stain after following the above steps, this will help to adsorb any lingering moisture and smells. Simply leave it for 30 min - 1hr then lightly vacuum off.
