Does the Peace Lily Latex Mattress use a zoned support system?

For those who do not know, a zoned support system is when the mattress has different firmness levels built into it that are designed to target specific areas of the body. These areas, or ‘zones’, are usually located in key areas of the body to promote proper spinal alignment and reduce pressure points. The number of zones can range from 3 to 7 depending on the design of the mattress but usually focus on the main areas of the hip, shoulders, head and back.

While this is a popular option for mattresses, our Latex Mattress does not utilise a zoned support system as the natural latex material provides the ideal balanced support across the whole mattress. This support and comfort has been rigorously tested during production, and by the sleep experts at Bedbuyer Australia who have awarded it as the ‘Best Latex’ Mattress in a Box for three years in a row (2024, 2023, 2022).

Most traditional mattresses generally provide a rigid and less adaptive sleep surface, where its adaptiveness needs to be supported by the zonal construction of the mattress. While these mattresses might initially offer the desired support, they often lack durability over time.

Unlike these types of mattresses, our latex mattresses typically mould and contours around the body’s shape. The natural latex in the mattress has integral properties that provide uniform support across the whole mattress, and pressure relief while naturally contouring into the body’s shape. These all contribute to the supportive properties of the mattress that negate the need for a zoned support system. These include:

  • Natural conformity: Latex mattresses are known for their inherent elasticity and responsiveness. They contour to the body's shape and provide consistent support across the surface. This conformity means that the zonal support is unnecessary
  • Uniform support: Unlike traditional innerspring mattresses, which rely on zoning to compensate for pressure points, latex mattresses distribute weight evenly. This means that your body gets the support it needs across every part of the mattress
  • Adaptive comfort: Latex foam adapts to the sleeper's movements, ensuring consistent support regardless of sleeping position. As a result, the need for zonal construction is less pronounced in latex mattresses compared to other traditional mattress types.

If you are still looking for a mattress that uses a zoned support system, we have a fantastic option with our Hybrid Mattress. It uses the natural conformity of the latex mattress in combination with the zonal support of pocket springs (3-zone). This is the perfect option for people who want the best of both worlds for an affordable price.
