Is your mattress suitable for co-sleeping with kids?

Co-sleeping with kids is a widely debated topic amongst most experts and parents. We know that parents can sometimes have unexpected visitors coming to share the bed with them. While we do not recommend this for safety reasons, our Peace Lily mattresses can hold & support up to 350kg so you can rest easy knowing your mattress can support everyone.

Options for Co-Sleeping

We have two great options to choose from that can be used if you plan on sharing the bed with your little one. Our Hybrid Mattress uses a combination of natural latex layers and a 3-zone pocket spring layer to provide consistent support across the mattress at an affordable price.

Our premium option, the Dunlop Latex Mattress, combines 3 durable layers of 100% natural latex to provide optimal support, comfort, and pressure relief. You can also add our Firm Mattress Topper (density 85D) to either option to provide the firmer sleeping surface needed if you choose to co-sleep.

Co-Sleeping with Babies

However, when it comes to co-sleeping with babies, we do not recommend this for a few reasons. Many doctors and experts also strongly advise against this which is important for parents to consider. There are a lot of risks and issues that can arise from sharing a bed with an infant for both parties.

For the baby, it increases the risk of suffocation or SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). You may accidentally roll onto the baby at night, or loose objects like a pillow can be knocked onto them, which can lead to suffocation. This is why it is recommended that infants have their own sleeping space in a cot that is free of any loose items.

For the parents, it can significantly disrupt your sleep quality and put a strain on your relationship. Since babies have a different sleeping pattern to parents, it can be a lot of interrupted nights of sleep that can hinder your cognitive ability throughout the day.
